Five hundred Lee ward school pupils carried a 6x9 foot flag gifted by students and aided by the Mothers Teachers' club. Girls sang America as the flag rose, with the staff to arrive soon for mounting the new Texas flag.

In Mexico City April 2 the Chamber of Deputies did not set a July election date, triggering a cabinet crisis that could rupture the Diaz Huerta pact. Reports say Diaz may withdraw from the presidential race, heightening political tension.

Carrie Key, age 1, hospitalized after ingesting a salad of herbs including poke gathered by an elder sister. Both she and her mother Mrs Key were affected. doctors used emetics and a stomach pump as efforts continued into Friday morning. The poisoning resembled an Indian narcotic with dilated pupils and exhilaration.
St. Louis National Bank of Commerce sues to recover 1.5 million dollars worth of Nashville Terminal stock. The stock allegedly was removed from the bank and sent to former Texas Senator Bailey without director knowledge.

On Bolivar Street Thursday night a hat and a pair of shoes were found. The articles were turned over to County Attorney Wilson and are in his possession. Officers recorded a marathon between two officers and an unknown white man who fled in a sprint, causing the gear to separate as he vanished. The last sign was sock prints on a muddy bank a half mile west of the start, suggesting he was still running.
Deputies spotted a man emerging from a North Denton house at about 10 o clock Thursday night in a hurry. He fired three pistol shots as he refused to stop. Deputies fired five shots into the air to stop him. no one was hurt and the man's identity was not released by Friday noon. The fusillade caused significant neighborhood excitement.
J A Cole a photographer was arrested at noon Friday on a pistol charge and an hour later on an assault with intent to murder complaint. The charges stem from an April 24 affair in Denton County with Pat Gallagher the alleged target. Cole was arrested by Sheriff Orr and Deputy Gallagher and made no public comment.
