Five hundred Lee ward school pupils carried a 6x9 foot flag gifted by students and aided by the Mothers Teachers' club. Girls sang America as the flag rose, with the staff to arrive soon for mounting the new Texas flag.

On Bolivar Street Thursday night a hat and a pair of shoes were found. The articles were turned over to County Attorney Wilson and are in his possession. Officers recorded a marathon between two officers and an unknown white man who fled in a sprint, causing the gear to separate as he vanished. The last sign was sock prints on a muddy bank a half mile west of the start, suggesting he was still running.

Deputies Open Fire on Suspect in North Denton

Deputies spotted a man emerging from a North Denton house at about 10 o clock Thursday night in a hurry. He fired three pistol shots as he refused to stop. Deputies fired five shots into the air to stop him. no one was hurt and the man's identity was not released by Friday noon. The fusillade caused significant neighborhood excitement.

Photographer Charged With Assault 10 Murder in North Denton

J A Cole a photographer was arrested at noon Friday on a pistol charge and an hour later on an assault with intent to murder complaint. The charges stem from an April 24 affair in Denton County with Pat Gallagher the alleged target. Cole was arrested by Sheriff Orr and Deputy Gallagher and made no public comment.
