In Chicago on April 16 a 2 cent per bushel drop in wheat prices occurred yesterday afternoon signaling a shift in the local grain market and affecting traders and handlers across wheat deliveries and futures expectations.
A peppery hail shower occurred this morning around 16 15 lasting moments. Later in the afternoon a longer hail event followed by sharp rain. Observers north of Denton noted the ground white with hail from Gainesville.

Jim Sandlin sustained a severe but not life threatening gash in the right breast from an axe wielded by Tom Fletcher during a wood cutting dispute on the L. F. Collins place near Mingo Tuesday morning. Sheriff Orr investigated as Fletcher’s brother said he would surrender, with aggravated assault charges expected.
New Orleans forecast shows tonight fair and colder with probable frost. Wednesday returns to fair conditions.
