A Denton case of meningitis in 10 year old Gerson Wilcoxon was confirmed by the city health officer and a physician. The child was isolated, serum given, and the home placed under quarantine with no additional cases expected. Rumors of further cases were investigated and dismissed.

The Sixteenth district court concluded its February session with 121 civil docket orders none by jury and four criminal trials. Fourteen civil dismissals and twenty continuances were recorded. Twenty divorces were granted and many suits to clear title partitions and debts settled. In criminal cases one murder acquitted, one burglary acquitted, one arson hung jury, one assault to murder convicted for aggravated assault with $500 fine and nine months in jail. State continued one murder, two arson dismissals, and several minor continuances.
