From the Boston Traveler dated January 18, Lieut. Frederick K. Beecher son of Rev. Charles Beecher of Georgetown was killed in the Indian War in 1868 and buried with another officer. Messengers to relocate the body to Georgetown found the grave robbed by Indians and the coffin removed. The adjoining grave was desecrated and the body not recoverable. no perpetrators identified and friends mourn the loss.
