Deegan Buys Corrine Mine Interest
W E Deegan a well known coal operator has purchased the entire interest of L N Frantz in the Miller Pocahontas mine at Corrine in the Winding Gulf field near Mullens. The deal consolidates ownership of the Corrine operation and expands Deegans mining holdings in the Mullens region.
Public calls for faster freight car use to ease shortage
The U S Chamber of Commerce Rail Committee urges users to add two tons per car and complete loading and unloading in 24 hours instead of 48. They claim this could equate to adding 535,000 freight cars to the current tight supply. Mr and Mrs A D Preston left Monday for a two week motor trip through the east.
