Accident Victim Rites Incomplete In Bartow
Funeral services for Oscar P. Slavin, 66, Bartow, killed in a Saturday night car crash near Durbin, are incomplete. Slavin died at Marlinton hospital from head and chest injuries. Survivors include wife, Theodore of Bath Maryland, daughters Nellie Pyles and Evelyn Freeman of Charlottesville Virginia, stepdaughter Violet Scott of Moscow Idaho, parents Gratz and wife of Green Bank, sister Lola Lambert Morgantown, brother Lockridge Bartow, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He belonged to Bartow Methodist Church and Moose Lodge 1465. Body at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home.

Funeral set Tuesday for accident victim
Funeral services for Ralph Clifford Kemper will be held at 10 a m Tuesday in the Baptist Church in Fayetteville. The Rev Joseph Crosher will officiate with burial at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Salem at 4 30 p m. Kemper, 44, a Fayetteville resident, died Saturday afternoon in a car accident one mile south of Fayetteville. He worked for New River and Pocahontas Consolidated Coal Co., taught schools, and served as State Conservation Commissioner. He was WVU 1941 graduate, a World War II veteran, member of American Legion Las Fayette Post 149, Alpha Beta Forestry Fraternity, and Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Survivors include wife Pearle, son John, daughter Lovelene, and his parents Clyde S Kemper and wife, plus siblings and other relatives. The body will be moved to the church from Dodd Payne Funeral Home one hour before the funeral.
