Hunt and Conserve Plan Faces Countywide Challenge
A Macfork Wildlife Rod and Gun Club proposal to create a five year hunting ban in the Jarrells Valles Beckley area aims to restock deer and turkey and curb out of season hunting. Club leaders cite yearly county kill totals from 1938 to 1949 to argue cooperation and antlerless seasons are needed to protect wildlife.
