Armed Forces aim to create better citizens says WAC leader
Lt Col Margaret Wharton of the Women's Army Corps told Beckley Jaycees the armed forces now allow fields and training choices, reject fitting people into fixed roles, and stress community living suitability before recommending WAC applicants. Capt James Kelly noted the policy against enlisting high school seniors. The session marked Wharton’s 13th year in the WAC.
