Fellowship Outing Concludes Glen Rogers Church Meeting

The Youth Fellowship of Glen Rogers Community Church held an outing after their Friday meeting. At the ball park they played softball, sang around a campfire, and roasted wieners. Chaperones included Mrs. Aubrey Nuckols and several others. members listed span multiple families.

Mission Project Adopted at Meet at Glen Rogers Church

The Woman's Society of Christian Service of Glen Rogers Community Church adopted a mission project. Mrs. Arvil Gentry led the program with the theme The Missing Ones. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Snow Dillon and Mrs. Ruth York to visitor Mrs. R. McStaces and 11 members.

Board to Name Officer at Meet

Mullens reports indicate the Community Recreation Inc board will elect a vice president from eight directors at the upcoming meeting. Three new members, Kitty Moler Rosemary Hall and Jimmy Thompson, were chosen to replace resignations of three members who go to college. Curtis Clay was elected treasurer succeeding Patty Shumate who resigned. Assessments and small duties assigned to Sarah McNutt and Mary Jane Davis. Officers plan 7:30 p.m. session at the recreation center next Monday. A separate note reports six year old Delinda Hill lost her right ring finger after a horse bite and received care at Stevens Clinic Hospital. Roy E. Fares of Princeton died of a heart attack while playing golf.

City-Wide Street Repair Project Gets Under Way

Whitesville launches a city wide patching program on avenues and streets with Standard Asphalt of Charleston tackling the first patch by Fourth and Third Avenues. Street Commissioner Harry Cooke notes a resumed paving of two alleys and a parking area funded by Midway Chevrolet and outlines the return of two slot penny nickel meters on Boone Street to curb meter slugging and ensure even placement across streets.

Whitesville Businessmen To Organize on Thursday

Whitesville businessmen and servicemen will meet Thursday at 1 p.m. to organize a Merchants Club aimed at making Whitesville a better place to shop. Ralph L. Hottle led the call, noting competition from Charleston and Beckley and urging a united front to retain trade.

Final settlements of guardians and administrators were approved by the Wyoming County Court. Appointments include Dymple Ball as notary with a $500 bond, A. B.
