In Greenville, fifteen year-old William Arthur Melton Jr was jailed amid the death of five-year-old Henry Harrison Jr whose body was found in an attic of a vacant house. Melton, arrested yesterday, gave a signed statement claiming a cowboys and Indians game led to Harrison’s stumble and unconscious fall. He tied the boy’s feet and returned later, thinking Harrison had gone, then raised the attic step. Police say he offered an uncertain motive and did not report the death promptly. Harrison’s body was found after a 12 hour search.
