Red Cross Aids 92 During August in Raleigh County
The Raleigh County Chapter of the American Red Cross aided 92 persons in August, led by executive director Mrs. T. C. Moore. The chapter serviced 65 telegrams, sent 24 leave verifications, and prepared 38 reports for the Veterans Administration. They assisted seven families with allotments, wrote 17 letters to servicemen or families, and handled 93 Home Service cases plus 36 miscellaneous cases. The Red Cross acts as a transmittal agency to verify needs for military action wherever a service member is stationed. The chimpanzee is the smartest of the apes.

Two Forfeit Bonds By Out-Of-State Drivers
Two men cited on the West Virginia Turnpike forfeited $10 bond and costs today before Magistrate W A Burke. Andrew Norman Parsons of Covington Kentucky and William Burnett Lakemire of Portsmouth Ohio were charged with speeding and had their bonds forfeited.

Byam Caravan Rally Draws 250 Campers To Stephen's Lake
The second Wally Byam Caravan rally in Raleigh County Ends at noon after four days of leisure at Stephen's Lake. More than 250 campers attended with 70 trailers parked on site, hailing from California Florida and several states. The West Virginia unit of the club has grown to 103 members and plans a 1965 rally. Cecil Swim organized this year’s event which features a new trailer court designed for 100 units with patios hookups and facilities.
