Courses Offered County Teachers
County teachers will hear about extension courses at a meeting on Tuesday September 12 at Beckley Junior High School at 7 o clock. Prof Kermit A Cook of West Virginia University will attend from Morgantown with details on two new courses Education 281 history of elementary and secondary education in the United States and Education 246 principles of supervision. Masters candidates may take these courses and S L McGraw registrar from Concord College will outline courses for new AB seeking teachers. Tuition is 10 per semester hour with 18 meetings counted as the first. The program aims to finish before bad weather. teachers can earn up to 15 hours for a master's degree.

Income Tax Aid Sets Up at Beckley Post Office
Deputy internal revenue collectors will be at the Beckley post office building September 12 13 14 and 15 to aid income tax payers in filing 1944 estimated income declarations. Filing required by September 15 for U S citizens or residents liable after June 15 1944 who plan to depart in 1944. Criteria include wages subject to withholding over 2700 single or 3500 married and more than 100 from other sources if totals reach 500 or more. farmers deriving two thirds of income from farming may postpone to January 15 1945 but must pay full estimated tax then.
