Fayette County Opens Its Third Canning Center

Fayette County opens Lookout Cannery on the Nuttall High School grounds with Karickhoff as director and McCutcheon on duty. The plant features two retorts, a boiler, sealing tables, and a ready schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Local Farm Women's Club members promote the project and first-day output includes corn, apple sauce, and tomatoes.

Nuttall and Ansted High Enrollments Rise

Lookout reports higher enrollments at Nuttall High with 347 students and Ansted High with 335. Principals expect more to enroll early next week as both schools announce new staff including English teachers Mrs Nettie Harris and Miss Bonnie Belle McGraw, plus social studies teacher Miss Daisy Cavalier and industrial arts teacher Martin Hofstetter. Wyoming Couples Granted Four Wedding Permits

Two Wyoming couples were issued marriage licenses in the county clerk’s office. C. W. Shufflebarzer of Pineville and Cav L. Joseph A Henderson brother of Mrs Russell H Bundy of Pineville died at Harner General Hospital Detroit Michigan on Friday. Youths Hurt When Auto Flips on Pineville Road

Four youths riding from a party on Jesse Mountain were in a wreck on the Pineville Oceana road near Jesse Mountain about 12 30 Tuesday night. Driver James A Morlar 17 Kopperston sustained bruises and lacerations and was hospitalized at Stevens Clinic Welch. Others Junior Angle Kopperston Kenneth Skeens and Jack Aliff Oceana escaped unharmed. A fire blew out and the car overturned three or four times.

Pvt William Lester Returns From Leave To Camp Kilmer

Pvt William Lester son of Mrs Julia Lester of Bud returns to Camp Kilmer after a 14 day leave with family. He awaits orders for overseas service after enlisting in April and basic training at Fort McClellan Alabama. He worked at Elmore yards of the Virginian Railway before joining the army.
