He was a United Mine Workers Local 5770 member and a Church of God of Prophecy minister for 25 years. Surviving are wife Lucy Meadows Prather three sons James Detroit Roy Lee Toledo and Thomas Gene Bridgeton N J two daughters Virginia Adkins Harper Heights and Mary Roberson Bridgeton N J three sisters Ida Crookshank Clifty Mary Camper Broaddus Mountain and Cora Rodgers Ohio and six grandchildren. The body remains at Melton Mortuary pending funeral arrangements.
