Fayetteville hosts a homecoming honoring Myron Renick national vice commander of the American Legion with a 1 30 p m parade from Fayetteville High School featuring Woodrow Wilson High School Band Beckley Bluefield Drum and Bugle Corp and Fayetteville High School Band. An assembly to follow will be held in the Fayetteville High School auditorium or Pirate Memorial Stadium weather permitting. Speakers include W R Fugitt Charles Boothe W Elliott Nefflin with delegates from every state post invited. Illness Fatal to Sandlick Man
Funeral services for William Forsyth Elkins, 56, who died at his Sand Lick residence Tuesday morning after a long heart illness, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Mount Tabor Baptist Church. The body relocates from Caffee Funeral Home to the residence this afternoon at 4 p.m. Burial follows in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Born in Dawsonville, Georgia, he moved to Eccles 22 years ago to work as a miner until retirement due to health. He is survived by his widow Orpha Stover Elkins, two daughters Mrs. Johnny Maxwell of Pax and Mrs. A. T. Walker of Hollywood, Florida, his parents Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Elkins of Basin, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
