Pair Pleads to Robbery Charge
Paul Britton Davis and Fred George Thornton of Skelton pleaded guilty yesterday in Raleigh County criminal court to breaking and entering and await sentence at a later date. Two other indictments were ordered nolle prosequi. Also indicted for a series of break ins are Alfred Rosenbaum and Lester Capps. James A. Hayes Jr. pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and will be sentenced later. Other guilty pleas with deferred sentences include Mike Halsey, Allen Hughes, John Q. Holstein, W U Milam, and Lawrence Sanchez. Milam and India Milam were dismissed for unlawful cohabitation. Trials of Howard Hunter and Robert Lilly for Bastardy were continued to January term.

Funeral services for J. R. Williams, former Beckley resident, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Methodist Church with Dr. Ritchie Ware officiating. Burial follows at Sunset Memorial Park. Walters, 28, died Monday night at Mally Williams Hospital Grundy Va from gunshot wounds suffered October 4 in Rose Ann Va where he had resided. He wrestled with a man in a church yard when another man fired the gun, then again during the struggle.
