Princeton Man Arrested After Oak Hill Bond Jump

Oak Hill Patrolman L K Toney reported Paul Moye was returned to Princeton after arrest in Oak Hill for skipping a $500 bond posted for a Princeton court appearance on October 6 for stealing an automobile.

Ballot Printing Contract Awarded Despite Board Objection

The Fayetteville school board awarded Beckley Newspapers Corporation the ballot printing contract for the November 2 levy vote on continued teacher salary increases. J Alfred Taylor objected, contending the $1.75 per thousand rate and publication plan were improper, and the Fayette Tribune was to publish the ballot with Montgomery Herald and State Sentinel.

Overheated Flue Causes Fire at Daniels Home

An overheated flue sparked a fire at the Maben home of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Daniels caused minor damage to the roof and ceiling. Mullens volunteer firemen responded at 1 30 p m and contained the blaze.

Transportation of Hawk's Nest Road Children Scheduled

Fayetteville officials plan bus service for 59 children from 24 families on Hawk's Nest Road when weather allows. The plan arose after a board meeting with transportation supervisor E R Vawter chief mechanic A E Orndorff and driver Aubrey Richards, joined by board member J Alfred Taylor during a road inspection.

Taylor Funeral Set for Thursday

Funeral services for W. E. Taylor 79 of Gatewood will be at 2 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home chapel Glen Jean. Burial will be in Coal Run Cemetery. He died at his home Tuesday evening. Surviving are his wife Lola and eight children including Henry and William plus four daughters.

Jean Moore Elected President of Junior Legion Auxiliary

Jean Moore was elected and installed president of the Junior Auxiliary of the Wyoming County American Legion Post 108. An organizational meeting at Irene Mitsoyianis home elected officers, set October 23 for a Halloween dance, and named committees for refreshments and decorations. Seven new members joined, and a regular meeting schedule was announced. Also noted, Earl Turner, janitor at Fayette County Court House, is ill with influenza and confined at home.
