Red Devil Band Plans Beckley Parade Friday Night

Oak Hill High School's 70 member Red Devil band debuts in new white pants red caps jackets and red uniforms. The group performed last Thursday at the Sulphur-Oak Hill game and will parade at the Raleigh County Beckley game Friday night led by Martha Amick head drum majorette with seven majorettes in red uniforms and white accessories.

Oak Hill Group Chooses Plans for Community Center

Oak Hill group selects plans based on the old YMCA for Mount Hope as part of a proposed community center. The building features a large auditorium adaptable for plays and lectures, a basketball court, several small rooms, and an outdoor pool. The final plan will be presented to civic representatives at City Hall Monday 7:30 p.m. with changes possible at the next full group meeting.

Men Jailed for Failure to Pay Fines in Pineville Crash

Otis Harrison and Colbert Towers, workers at Mountain Fork Lumber, were committed to Wyoming County jail for failure to pay fines after a crash in Pineville. Harrison faced intoxication charges and letting Towers drive without a license. Towers paid $10 fine and costs. Harrison received two $10 fines plus costs.
