Jury resumes Fayette trials with verdict in Toliver case

Fayetteville jurors return to circuit court after a brief leave. Judge Thrift directed a verdict for Josephine Tolliver against Ed Mayes in Traveller's Inn matter. Tolliver claimed a fall while disposing trash. mobility and causation issues were noted. Other cases settled or continued with a total outlay of 2000 dollars.

Stover Funeral Set for Thursday

Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Stover 11 will be held at 2 p m tomorrow at the Scarbro residence with burial in Lick Fork Cemetery. He died at his home Monday at 2 50 p m from a heart condition after a year of illness. The body will be returned to the home at 2 p m today.

Funeral services for Archie Blankenship 60 of Middietown will be held at 2 p on Thursday at the Ridgecrest Church of God with Rev Earl J Gilbert officiating. Burial follows at Sunset Memorial Park Beckley. He was a retired coal miner born July 24 1888 in Richlands Virginia. He died at 1 32 am yesterday from a heart ailment after months of illness. Issac Quinn Tolliver, 56, a retired Wyoming County coal miner and World War I veteran, died at 1 30 p m at his Ravencliff home. He leaves a large family and friends. services will be held at Pine Grove Church near Havencliff with burial in the church cemetery.
