Mullens City Council to decide on new business site and sidewalk curbs
Tonight Mullens officials will weigh allowing a Beechwood man to convert an old bus body into a shop at a corner in the business district and consider steps to curb sidewalk encroachment seen at Moran Ave where 50 pound potato sacks were displayed. Arthur Cecil says Andy Mongeni sought permission to park a taxi lot pickup for produce but Mongeni moved the bus body onto a shaky stand. City Clerk Clyde Newsome blocked a peddler license and Mayor Cook indicated tighter curb enforcement to stop firms from using sidewalks for displays.
