Death of Charlie Dalton Found Near Piney Creek
Charlie Dalton 37 of Cool Ridge was found dead Thursday beside Piney Creek below the Beckley sewage plant. The body was located around 6 p.m. by Robert Baker near the cave area. Police said no foul play is suspected and Dalton died sometime Thursday. His body was moved three miles upstream to the old Raleigh mine then out of the hollow by ambulance assisted by Beckley police state troopers and Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home attendants.
