Two men arrested at a Las Vegas strip hotel on charges of robbing a Perth Amboy bank of 102,176 ten days earlier with sawed-off shotguns and wounding a teller. Federal agents took William Lewis Schech and Doyle Delmar Royal into custody. both are fugitives from Maryland jails.

CHICAGO UPI The Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a ruling allowing railroads to impose anti featherbedding work rule changes without union consent potentially eliminating up to 80000 jobs. Five unions representing 212000 on train employees warned of a nationwide strike if applied unilaterally. The injunction blocking changes remains pending a rehearing decision.
