Woman Collects Shoes Gifted From Around World
Mrs. Clifford Miller has about 180 shoes from 71 U S states and five foreign countries gathered since 1947. Her display grew via letters to friends and gifts from relatives, with items from Mexico, England, India and Holland. The collection includes tiny slippers, a bronze boot with spurs, a pair with metal roller skates, and a German carved wooden shoe. Her work as a 4-H leader and PTA officer helped fund and arrange displays in an electrically lit cabinet and later expanded to tournaments.
