Louis Johnson to Share Honor at New Castle Banquet

France waits on Britain's reply before renewing war debt plea

Paris, Nov. 26. France plans to renew its demand for suspending the December 15 interest payment to the United States after it learns Britain's reaction to the American note rejecting a similar British request. Premier Herriot presided over discussions with Finance Minister Germain-Martin and foreign office experts. France faces treasury deficits and may struggle to pay. A cabinet session next week will reexamine the debt issue and the coded American note text.

Cabinet Meets To Discuss War Debt Note To U S

London reports say almost the entire British cabinet will meet informally ahead of Monday’s cabinet session to decide Britain’s reply to the United States note refusing to suspend the 95.55 million war debt payment due December 15. Sir John Simon arrived from Geneva and Prime Minister MacDonald plans to return to Downing Street after studying the issue at Chequers.

Birthday Dinner Honors 67th Birthday in Harvey West Virginia

Mrs L J Allen hosted a birthday dinner Thursday for her husband marking his 67th birthday. The event drew Billy Smith and others from the area including Charles Smith and Miss Alice Pownell. Thanksgiving Visits and Hunting Trips Across Counties

Huntington residents and area families shared Thanksgiving visits with relatives and friends in Huntington Charleston Monroe and Oak Hill. Hunting trips were reported in Summers and Monroe counties with several groups including Pritchard Dillon and Jess Allen taking part.
