In Pontiac Michigan unidentified outsiders were blamed for funding agitators to spark a wildcat strike at the Fisher body plant. Homer Martin of the United Automobile Workers led about 200 sit down strikers in a dramatic show of resolve. The strike ended after Martin met with the workers, with 14 721 workers idled across the Pontiac Motor Car Co and Fisher plant awaiting return to work later in the week.

CHICAGO A pretty 16 year old high school girl Lorraine Harynek admitted to police she had claimed she would become a mother to Warren S Stanley a 17 year old cadet found fatally shot in a wrecked stolen car. State policemen said Stanleys car led to an 80 mile an hour chase then crashed into a tree. Healy reported a pistol shot and the youth slumped over the wheel.

SOCORRO New Mexico The body of 16 year old Rose Garcia was found in a shallow grave. District Attorney John Burgnard announced he was holding W. R. Cassidy for questioning after Cassidy said the girl killed herself and placed her body in the grave.
