Marshall Dean Dies Following Monroe Wreck
Bluefield report says George W. Hogate of Marshall College English Dept died at 8:45 p.m. in a Bluefield hospital after a station wagon skidded on a curve, struck an embankment, and overturned. Dean of arts and sciences J Frank Bartlett, 48, was injured with a fractured leg and cuts.

Stevenson Rites Slated Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Belle Stevenson will be held at 11 a m Saturday at the Beavers home in Maben with Rev. John Bower officiating. She died Wednesday at age 78 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Paul Beavers. Burial will be in Byrd Cemetery near Maben. The body will be moved from Robertson and Foglesong Funeral Home to the Beavers residence this evening.
