Evening on the River play advances for Blennerhassett site
Mrs. A Beauchamp Smith I Parkersburg of the Blennerhassett Drama Assoc says the play Evening on the River is nearly complete. Sen W Walter Neeley urged the commission to avoid building a bridge to the island during its development as an historical site citing 1000 car parking needs and 50 percent of funds for access. One option is steam boat transport and a long term lease with DuPont for island use. The island once belonged to Harman Blennerhassett a 18th century immigrant friend of Aaron Burr and mansion builder destroyed in 1810.
