State Gets 800000 For Forest Highways
West Virginia will receive 800000 of 8000000 allocated by the Bureau of Public Works for 33 highway projects on federal lands in 15 states. The funds come from a Congress appropriation to relieve unemployment in distressed areas and will cover construction or improvement of highways in national parks forests and on public lands with the federal government paying full cost. WESTPORT Conn UPI Police identified 31 year old handyman Harris Miller as the intruder who entered the home of Pierre Sillan strangled his wife Isabel 50 and abducted and assaulted his daughter Gail 14. Gail escaped and later identified Miller as her attacker leading to a nationwide manhunt. Gail's mother was killed in the home and Miller is sought along with Rosalie Miller 23 for involvement in the kidnapping. Gail remains under guard at Norwalk Hospital amid police concerns Miller may harm her.
