H. C. Bennett of Huntington Thurmond was killed at 11 am in the home of R. L. Bennett a C. O. railroad section foreman. R. L. Bennett and his wife were jailed charged with murder after a confessed shooting with shotguns and a pistol. Magistrate Bennett about 55 lived in Huntington and served as justice of the peace and railroad conductor.
