Mrs. Jenny Eads, 81, of Keith and former Ameagle resident, died last week after fracturing her back and is hospitalized at Madison General Hospital. Mrs. Noble Jarrett of Ameagle hospitalized in Charleston for observation and treatment. Everett Belcher of Ameagle returned home from a business trip to Kentucky last week.

Funeral Tuesday For J. W. Thomas In Oak Hill

Funeral services for John Woodrow Thomas 45 of 202 Sanford St will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Burial at High Lawn Memorial Park. Thomas died Sunday of a heart attack at home after a life in the theater industry and military service in World War II. He leaves his mother and siblings.

In Whitesville and surrounding communities the Boone County Boy Scout drive shows progress toward an $8560 goal. Robinsons welcome daughter du Anne in Beckley Hospital

Minden Water Co Buys New River and Pocahontas System

The Public Service Commission approved the sale of the New River and Pocahontas water system in Fayettes County to the Minden Water Company. The $5,000 purchase serves 323 customers in Minden and Kaymoor with monthly rates including 2 to 1 5000 gallons and block rates, plus fixed charges for dwellings, churches, and commercial connections.

William Lyle Piper Rites Planned In Princeton

William Lyle Piper 72 of 401 North Third Street died after a three week illness in Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb 18 1885 in Jonesboro Tenn son of the late Carlos H Piper and Edie Mahoney Piper. He is survived by his wife Virginia Sue Boggess son Lyle B Summersville sister Mrs Charles C Wall of Charlton and three grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2 30 p m Tuesday at the First Christian Church Princeton with Rev Norman Crawford. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. G H Bailey Dies Rites Incomplete

George Hayden Bailey 80 of Neola Greenbrier County died in a Charleston hospital after an influenza attack. He had been ill two weeks and relapsed after hospitalization. A Colcord native, he served as Raleigh County deputy sheriff about 23 years ago and as a justice of the peace in Clear Fork District. He ran a Colcord grocery before moving to a Greenbrier County farm 22 years ago.

Proceeds from the Dorothy Elementary school carnival Saturday night totaled about $300. The fish pond and fortune telling booth drew the most patrons.
