Fugitt 62 longtime West Virginia education and athletic administrator died at 10 45 p m Tuesday after a cerebral hemorrhage at his Beckley home He had been executive secretary of the West Virginia High School Activities Commission and previously led the Beckley Chamber of Commerce and other civic bodies He guided statewide scholastic sports plans and had just been preparing playoff plans for the state football title He was a Marshall College athlete and later a prominent educator and public servant with many state organizations prior to his death
