Marine Reserves To Get Duty Notice
Marine Reserves will receive active duty call dates by early next year. Most enlisted reservists below sergeant rank and those alerted so far will be mobilized by November 30. Some staff NCOs may be ordered up later to fill critical billets, with captains not generally mobilized. First lieutenants with early June 1944 appointments and continuous reserve service will mostly not be called, except for needed specialists. Marine Headquarters cites high reserve response to the initial call and efforts to provide advance notice while screening for disqualifications.
