Vagrant Admits Slaying Autoist
CHICAGO police said a hitchhiking vagrant identified as Thomas Blanchard of Detroit admitted killing Daniel Saenz Jr. of Chicago after Saenz gave him a ride. Saenz was found dead in a ditch near Palos Heights Lemont area. Mrs. Josephine la Rue, 40, was shot twice in the head and underwent emergency surgery after resisting the attacker. She helped identify the suspect before losing consciousness.
