Beckley physician Dr. M M Ralston is named defendant in a 150000 suit filed for injuries and loss of consortium by Bob and Reba Alderman from a December 11 1970 Mossy Interchange wreck on the West Virginia Turnpike. Mrs Alderman seeks 50000 for loss of society companionship and comfort. A second suit names the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. Sharon Sue Stewart and two White girls seek 9000 for injuries from a February 8 collision with a train near Sandy Bottom. Stewart seeks 5000 while the Whites seek 2000 each. Charles Crawford and Mrs J R Peg Williams received VAVS awards for long time volunteer service at Beckley VA Hospital and Huntington VA Hospital respectively. Crawford is an original member of Beckley VAVS advisory committee.

An apparently minor two vehicle crash occurred at 6:25 p.m. Sunday at the W. Va. 16 and Rural Acres Drive intersection on Sprague Hill. Ira Hart a 64 year old Crab Orchard resident drove a 1969 truck and Samuel Heston 47 from 214 Saunders Ave piloted a 1971 auto. Damage was $150 to the truck and $25 to the car with no charges or injuries reported.
