Liquor by the Drink Debate Fails to Draw Crowd
A Monday Woodrow Wilson High School debate on a liquor by-the-drink amendment drew 48 attendees and failed to sway support. Rev. L. E. Crowson of Logan argued against alcohol expansion citing state alcoholics data, while Del. Chester R. Hubbard of Wheeling argued limited state control and licensing would improve oversight. A Q and A followed with questions on collegeers buying drinks and enforcement. Alan Stone moderated the event on the seven-station radio network.
