Beckley proceeds with $13,000 sewer repair project
Beckley advances a 13 thousand dollar city sewer repair in the McCreery and South Fayette streets area. City officials say a crushed line since December caused drainage and flooding. Armco Steel's Metal Products Division won a 12,900 dollar contract to install a large metal tank and 36 inch tubing to cross McCreery Street and connect to an alley manhole. After installation, workers will lay a 10 inch vitrified pipe, linking sewer and storm lines. Completion timing was not given.
