Theft Case to Be Aired Here Tonight

Negro on Bond For Car Theft
A 16 year old named Robert Craighead was released on $1,000 bond for trial at the June term on a grand larceny charge. Police say he and seven other youths borrowed a car, went joy riding through Beckley, and were pursued after a laundry truck blocked them. Craighead confessed and gave a signed statement claiming the ride started to attend a club meeting with a cousin. He was jailed overnight after appearing before Magistrate J. P. Meadows.
