Jose Contreras a 28 year old Taunton Mass middleweight died at Rhode Island Hospital following an eighth round stoppage loss to Bob Bolton in Providence on May 2. Contreras suffered a brain operation and faded into a coma after briefly waking to speak with his wife and children.

Little League to Hold Final Meeting Tonight
The Ley Little League will hold its final meeting before the 1955 season next Monday at the Elks Lodge tonight at 8 p.m. Executive president Al Braun said the session starts at 8 to allow managers and himself to return from Oak Hill and a television program with Little Leaguers at 6 15. All league personnel are asked to attend and those interested in working with the Minor Leaguers are also welcome as business will concern this group.

Karl F. Lagler of the University of Michigan Department of Fisheries says no fish is known to have color vision and, even if they do, there is no proof they see color as humans do. He spoke about whether fish can distinguish lure colors.

Robinette Wins Pin Tournament in Charleston
Richard Robinette, son of E. H. Robinette, won the $500 top prize in the actual pins division of the 14th Boulevard Sweepstakes in Charleston. His five game total 1,110 led Lewis Carl of Wheeling by 36 pins. Handicap division winner was Ronald Brillhart of South Charleston with 1,189.
