Ferrell death ruled accidental in alleged chicken coop robbery
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney says Denver Ferrell 19 was killed by a bullet fired during an attempted robbery of a chicken coop. State police probe focuses on why companion Bob Maynor 16 was not brought to jail for probation violation. Maynor, on probation from the reform school, said Ferrell tripped on wire and discharged the pistol. Constable Alva Estep was to book Maynor this morning, but he had not yet been booked as of early afternoon. The shooting was deemed accidental after the investigation at Artie.

The 59 year old peer testified his financial road had been rocky and his attorney planned an immediate appeal. Three Executed At Joliet Ill For Bank Killing
Joliet Illinois May 10 three men who took part in killing three others during an attempted bank robbery were electrocuted in the old penitentiary. The action expiated the murder of J Charles Bundy cashier at the Leonore Illinois bank. The three gunmen who survived were not tried for the other two deaths. Executed within 19 minutes after 1 am were Fred Gerner 27 and Arthur Thielen 42 both of Rockford Illinois and John Hauff 27 Chicago. Victims included Sheriff Glenn Axline Marshall County and Charles Seipp township supervisor.

W. H. Kearns, assistant mine foreman at Helen, is at liberty on a $1,000 bond pending a hearing on malicious wounding. George Booker, 29, colored man, is at Beckley hospital with a broken nose and cheekbone after an altercation at Helen yesterday afternoon. Kearns was released on bond by Squire H. F. Hancock.
