Flying Eagles slam Princeton 15-2 in Coalfield tilt
Woodrow Wilson’s squad, led by Captain Dave Barksdale’s two homers, defeated Princeton 15-2 as Hedrick allowed only three singles. Bearded with 11 hits, the Eagles built a 2-0 first inning lead and cruised, with Williams and Fragile also driving in runs and Barksdale adding a second homer in the sixth. Princeton’s Ferguson, Hatfield and Showalter produced the only notable hits for the Tigers as Woodrow Wilson improves to 4-3 in conference play and 5-3 overall, while Princeton falls to 2-5 in league action.
