Billie Sol Estes The West Texas Magnate Who Fell
A Pecos titan once built a $150 million empire from cotton and loans, a high pressure salesman who rose from one suitcase and a question to own 40 companies, private planes, and a famed poolside life. He funded groceries for the poor, feared communism, and claimed Bible principles guided him. The piece hints at looming disaster as “the roof falls in.”
