Airman Dies In Collision With Circus Trailer On Rt 60

Cedar Grove West Virginia young airman John Estes Daniels twenty of Quincy died when his car sideswiped a circus trailer loaded with tent poles on U S Route 60. The impact tore rear wheels from the trailer and the car slid partly beneath the rig. Driver Arthur Thomas Denton Jr thirty three of Greenville North Carolina escaped serious injury. Daniels death raised Kanawha County highway toll for the year to twenty three.

Review of County Case Is Refused

The West Virginia Supreme Court refused to review a Raleigh County case arising after a railroad locomotive struck an ambulance. Plaintiff Robert Lee Scott, a coal miner and guest passenger, sought $12,000 against New York Central Railroad, C. D. Trent Funeral Home, Beckley, and driver James Robert Hayden. Trent and Hayden had demurred for contributory negligence. the circuit judge overruled and certified for review.

Mother Kills Four Children in NJ Garage Tragedy

MAHWAH New Jersey A 29 year old estranged from her ex Rutgers football star husband killed her four young children by carbon monoxide poisoning in the family garage. She pulled some from the wagon but failed to save all. A murder charge was filed as authorities weigh arraignment or possible psychiatric observation. The couple had been separated since February amid a divorce suit accusing her of adultery.

Clarksburg Hints at City Manager as Republicans Gain Control

Charters Richland Conservation Inc Formed in Amigo

A state charter was issued today to Richland Conservation, Inc. with offices in Amigo. The non profit group plans to build and maintain recreational lakes at Richland, Fork of Guyandotte River, Raleigh County. Incorporators include C. H. Maynor and Shankey Lilly of Amigo and Loyd H. Governors Confer With Eisenhower On Peace Security

Governors from 45 states plus Hawaii Alaska Puerto Rico Guam and the Virgin Islands met with President Eisenhower to discuss peace and security. Drowning Suit Is Reinstituted In Raleigh County Court

The Crawford family of Cleveland has reinstituted its $10,000 suit against the County Court and County Park Board in Raleigh County Circuit Court after a federal dismissal for lack of jurisdiction. The suit seeks redress for the drowning of John Willard Crawford at Little Beaver Lake last summer, with attorney W. A. Thornhill representing the plaintiff.
