Piney Drain Pipe Returned to City by Road Commission
City Council asked the State Road Commission to return a 46 inch galvanized drainage pipe removed Monday after being placed on private property at Piney and Valley Drive. The pipe, given to the city for drainage on lower Piney Avenue, was taken by County Road Commissioner George Gadd following Hedrick’s complaint. Hedrick said the pipe was needed on his property to drain city land and to connect three sections to the main drain under Piney Avenue. Council also sought an additional section on the opposite side of the road to feed into the main drain, stating the pipe is needed to handle heavy water flow during rain.
