DuPont Plans New Belle Plant Expansion
DuPont announced a new Belle Works plant to open mid 1963 at a cost near 1 million dollars. The move includes an eight cent across the board raise for 2,200 hourly and certain salaried workers. The plant will produce glutaric and succinic anhydrides, key chemicals for plastics and polymers, and will be housed in an existing building.

Elvis J. Stahr Jr., resigned today as secretary of the Army to become president of Indiana University on July 1. He praised his tenure as an outstanding example of good management and said he would return to the college ranks after taking the IU presidency. Stahr, a Romney West Virginia native, had been president of West Virginia University before Kennedy named him to the Army post in 1961. He cited the Army reaching a higher plateau and mapped objectives as the reason for leaving.
