Robinson Still Top Competitor
New York reports that Jackie Robinson remains a strong Civil Rights figure and top competitor while expanding into leadership roles. He helped launch Freedom National Bank and an Insurance Company, and plans a Meridian Mississippi community center in memory of three murdered civil rights workers. He signs a one season ABC commentary role, the first Negro to do such work, and views it as meaningful though not as groundbreaking as breaking into baseball.
