Two Truck Crash Near Glen Jean Injures Three
A three vehicle collision on U.S. 21 near the Mountaint Air Drive In Theatre in Glen Jean injured three people. Van Kelly Proffitt, 24, of Pontiac Michigan, faced reckless driving charges after his northbound pass caused a head on with a car driven by Thomas Nassie, 21, of Kilsyth. passenger Elizabeth Elliott, 18, suffered facial injuries and rib concerns. Nassie and Elliott were hospitalized in Beckley. Proffitt was treated for minor injuries and released after a hearing with Magistrate R. C. Godsey.

Rebecca Herndon 90 of Spanishburg Va died at home Sunday after a lingering illness. Born May 5 1866 in Russell County Va she was married to John N Herndon who died two years ago. Survived by two sons William E and Paul and two daughters Mrs William A Hartley and Mrs Rachel Warren. Body taken to Abingdon Va for funeral and burial in the family cemetery Wednesday afternoon.
