Women and Sorority Clubs Schedule Meetings

Coming events list local meetups for the Women’s Christian Temperance Union at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church social room. The Sigma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority gathers at 8 p.m. tomorrow at 202 Clyde Street. Beckley Young Woman’s Club meets at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Woman’s Clubhouse on Park Avenue. Mr and Mrs T R Wilson present a program on South America.

Mrs R L Herndon Leads Devotional For Circle Five

Mrs Roy L Herndon led the Circle Five devotional at the First Methodist Church March meeting held in Mrs Ros lene Weikle's home. The group sang Sweet Hour of Prayer to start. Miss Dorothy McCullough gave the treasurer's report in Mrs C E Beavers' absence due to illness. Plans were made for the Gideons dinner at the church parish hall at 7 p.m. Miss Marsha O'Dell sang My Wild Irish Rose. The lesson study on Understanding the Bible was led by Mrs Herndon, Miss McCullough, and Mrs Honaker.

Shower Honoring Bride-Elect Miss Wilma Shaver in Richmond Building

In the Richmond Building social room on Kanawha Street a miscellaneous shower honored Miss Wilma Shaver bride-elect of Teddy R. Munsey. Hosts Mrs Edna Ball and Miss Margaret Howell arranged pastel crepe decorations and napkins printed with Ted and Wilma. Guests enjoyed games with prizes awarded to several attendees, and a long guest list included many relatives and friends.

Miss Jean Winner Hostess At Shower Honoring Mrs Wilmoth

Miss Jean Winner hosted a Saturday evening shower in the Richmond Building social room at 8 S Kanawha Street for Mrs James Robert Wilmoth and guests. Corsages were given to the honoree and hostess, a green white color scheme highlighted refreshments, and miniature wedding rings served as favors. The guest list featured many local women including Mrs Herndon and Miss Winner with games directed by Mrs Roy Herndon.

Margaret Ann Claytor Weds Don Maloney in Washington Ceremony

Margaret Ann Claytor and Don Maloney were married March 6 at First Daniels Congregational Church in Washington D. C. The ceremony, led by Rev. M. W. McCollum, featured a long list of attendants and relatives. The bride, a Shady Spring High School graduate, works for the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington, while the groom serves in the Navy in Washington D. C.
