Dick, 18, Released On $500 Bond In Copper Theft
Charles Dick of Minden posted a $500 bond after arraignment on transporting stolen property charges. He was arraigned before Magister Virgil Lyons and waived to the grand jury. Seven juveniles were arrested with him for stealing copper wire from the New River and Pocahontas Consolidated Coal Co. in Minden. the juveniles were released to their parents to await juvenile court hearings.

Three men pleaded guilty in Wyoming County Circuit Court to robbing an elderly couple of 2600 dollars. Judge Robert McWorrell sentenced Raymond Pack, 26, to ten years in the state penitentiary at Moundsville, while sentencing for his brother Dewey Pack, 40, and Truman Blankenship was postponed. The trio allegedly entered the Long Branch home of Kenneth Blankenship, 9, and wife Cynthia, 73, on January 2 and stole the money.

Clarence Blackwell of Prudence was prosecuted Friday for employing boys under 18 and for operating without required approval and permits for new mines. In Sizemore Clay County a two car crash early Sunday claimed its fourth death. Lankford Holcomb, 28, of Indore, died from injuries in a Montgomery hospital after driving one car.
