City To Borrow More Money To Finish Parking Building
Beckley plans to finish the off street parking facility with funds from Charleston National Bank after local bank loan limits were exhausted. City Attorney Payne said about $396,000 has been borrowed from local banks and that the city may borrow up to about one million, with the project costing under half that. The council also approved levies on Werley Road residents, approved a new transmitter antenna for the Harper Road office tower, discussed a pedestrian tunnel under South Kanawha Street for Beckley College, and endorsed beautification plans for the municipal building grounds.
