County Officials Face Overdraft Scrutiny in Raleigh County
County leaders explained a growing overdraft traced to two years of rising costs and shifting funds. The 1962 overdraft stood around 79 000 dollars, with auditors noting a 40 000 dollar overdraft in 1962 and a 120 000 dollar rise over the prior two years. Citizens urged cost controls and central purchasing while officials promised to restore fiscal health and re support non constitutional projects once affordable. Public officials defended funding existing services and discussed potential hiring of a financial administrator or expert.
